Soba dango with a generous topping of kinako, 400 yen

“Melts-in-your-mouth soba tea pudding

Tatami room with two low tables

Two private tatami rooms

The building, the former Wakasaya Inn, is also a Registered Tangible Cultural Property

Teuchi Juwari Rokusuke is a soba restaurant in Imajo, which is itself famous for soba noodles.

And you can have your delicious noodles in a historic building that dates back to the Edo period.
Their oroshi soba (800 yen), with grated daikon radish, is handmade from 100% buckwheat flour every morning.
Toppings can be ordered on a separate plate, so even children who don’t like grated daikon radish or green onions can enjoy it.
After your meal, don’t miss Rokusuke’s soba-based sweets.
That lovely buckwheat smell makes the not-too-sweet soft soba dango dumplings (400 yen) or the soba tea pudding (available on limited occasions) great treats for the kids.
While children today are exposed to beautiful historic buildings and cultural properties less and less often, getting to eat in an old house like this is a valuable experience.
Experience delicious history at Teuchi Juwari Rokusuke!
