Site of Hiuchiga Castle
Hiuchiga Castle is located on the top of Mount Atago, east of Mount Fujikura (located to the west of Imajo-juku). This castle was described in the Genpei Josuiki as “the grandest castle in Hokurikudo”. The stone walls of the fort and the inner citadel of the castle still remain, as well as traces of the moat that surrounded the castle.
