Mount Honokeyama

Mount Honokeyama used to have a platform where smoke signals were sent out to warn people in the capital or provincial offices of any abnormal occurrences, and this led to its name Honoke, which was derived from the Japanese word for “sign of fire”. The summit overlooks the surrounding flat plains and Tsuruga Bay, as well as the Sea of Japan, and the mountain is known for its beautiful nature.
