Kono Kitamae Shipowner Street Guided Tour
The Kitamae-bune ships are designated as Japan Heritage, and one of the 5 great shipowners in Hokuriku was Ukon Gonzaemon. This tour starts at his former residence, Ukon Family Residence, and will introduce the history of the Kitamae-bune ships, and also bring you around Seiyokan, which was said to have created employment for the townspeople of Kono after the Great Depression. You will get to learn much more about the Kitamae-bune ships and their stories through this tour.
