Get muddy! Harvest lotuses in the fields of pink

The fields in Domiya District, Minami-Echizen are dotted with pink flowers in the summer. This is one of the rare places in Japan where lotus flowers, which are usually used for worship during the Bon Festival in Japan, are cultivated at a large scale. You can go into the lotus fields and try your hand at harvesting these lotus flowers. Activate your five senses by touching the soil and smelling the flowers, and enjoying nature’s gift to your senses in the fields. Make a bouquet with the lotus flowers you’ve harvested at the end, and bring it home as a souvenir.
